Winy Maas is a renowned Dutch architect and urban planner, best known as one of the founders of the MVRDV firm. He is a professor in the field of future cities at Delft University of Technology. He heads The Why Factory, a think tank in Delft that focuses on future cities and is currently also collaborating with ARCHIP in Prague. His work is characterised by an innovative approach to design and research, with an emphasis on the sustainability and social aspects of the urban environment. Maas has participated in several significant projects worldwide, often challenging traditional architectural conventions and seeking new ways to utilise space.
