Marek Tichý is a chartered architect and co-founder of the firm TaK Architects, which focuses on the intersection of contemporary and historical architecture. He presents his search for an authentic architectural expression and a balance between heritage preservation and the demand for modern, functional buildings not only through his own work, for which he has received numerous awards at national and international architectural exhibitions, but also through featured exhibitions, lectures, and publications. His significant projects include the reconstruction of Werichova Villa, the conversion and extension of Obecní dvůr in Prague, Divadlo Na zábradlí (Theatre on the Balustrade), and the Palace of Electrical Undertakings in Prague. Since 2005, he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague, where he qualified as a docent (associate professor) in 2022 and leads his own studio.
